Emberwake Tactics
★★★★☆ 4.3
Emberwake Tactics drops you onto small grid battlefields and asks you to think three moves ahead. Units have limited energy, so wasting a turn on a bad attack usually costs you the whole fight. It's the kind of game that rewards patience.
The touch interface handles the grid nicely — tap a unit, drag to preview movement range, and it shows damage forecasts before you commit. That preview system is the difference between frustration and a proper puzzle.
Campaigns are bite-sized, maybe fifteen minutes each, which fits mobile perfectly. There's a bit of grind if you chase every optional objective, but the core loop stays sharp.
What we liked
- Clean grid controls with move previews
- Short, focused missions
- Real depth without menu overload
