A Week With Casinacho Games

I went in expecting a throwaway app and came out mildly obsessed. Casinacho Games isn't one game so much as a small pile of them, and the trick is that they're all short enough to never overstay their welcome.

My favorite ended up being the bouncing-character track. You steer left and right with tilt or a swipe, dodging little obstacles, and there's a lovely rubbery feel to the movement. I kept restarting just to beat my own run.

The tapping-timing minigame took me longer to warm up to, but once I understood the rhythm it clicked. That's a good sign — a game that teaches you something without a wall of text.

If I have a complaint, it's that a couple of the modes feel thinner than the rest. But at this price of your attention, the variety more than makes up for it. A solid pick for filling small gaps in your day.

Tip: play with sound on. The little audio cues actually help you time things, and the music is quietly great.
