Hollow Lantern
★★★★★ 4.6
Hollow Lantern leans into atmosphere. You play a lamplighter wandering a kingdom that's slowly going dark, relighting old lanterns and piecing together what happened. Combat is turn-based but light, so the story stays front and center.
Character progression is refreshingly readable — a handful of meaningful skills instead of forty samey ones. Every choice about how to build your character actually changes how fights feel.
The writing carries it. Side characters have real voices, and the game trusts you to fill in gaps rather than explaining everything. It's a slow burn, best played a chapter at a time.
